Nalin Moniz, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer – Alternative Equity at Edelweiss Global Asset Management where he leads the portfolio management and research efforts for all alternative and risk adjusted strategies across the AIF, PMS, FPI and mutual fund platforms.
Prior to Edelweiss, he was the co-founder of Forefront Capital Management – India’s leading public market alternative boutique and a portfolio manager with Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York where he managed part of Global Alpha – the world’s largest hedge fund in the mid 2000s.
He is a pioneer in the field of alternative investments in India having created the first ever category III AIF and helping shape regulation, policy, best practices and client thinking in this space.
Nalin graduated magna cum laude from the Management and Technology program at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics (Finance, Statistics) from the Wharton School and a B.S.E. in Computer Engineering from the School of Engineering. He is one of only a handful of Penn graduates to be recognized as both a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and a Joseph Wharton Scholar for his work in business, technology & the liberal arts.
Nalin is a CFA charter holder.
