Nalin is the Chief Investment Officer – Alternative Equity at Edelweiss Global Asset Management where he is responsible for the research & fund management of all of Edelweiss liquid alternative and hedge fund solutions. He is a pioneer in the Indian alternative asset management industry having created the first ever Category III AIF and has been responsible for shaping policy, industry frameworks and client risk appetite for hedge funds in India. He also manages the top ranked Indian long/short equity fund – the Edelweiss Alternative Equity scheme which is the only fund to be a three time nominee for Eurekahedge’s India hedge fund of the year and the only fund to do so in a bull, bear and range bound market demonstrating an ability to deliver strong risk adjusted returns across market cycles. Prior to Edelweiss, Nalin was the founder of Forefront Capital and a portfolio manager with Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York where he managed part of Global Alpha – the world’s largest hedge fund in the mid 2000s. Nalin graduated magna cum laude from Management & Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. Economics (Wharton School) and B.S.E in Computer Engineering (Moore School of Engineering). In his free time, Nalin loves to run marathons and is a qualifier for the 2018 Berlin Marathon.
