Countries derived out of teeth. This is the first time that such technology is used in the region. His other companies include HealthBridge, involved in healthcare delivery systems and GCV Life, in getting innovative diagnostic systems in Indian market.
Deepak also is a renowned Angle Investor and a Venture Capitalist. He is also part of promoter team to start SEBI approved PE Funds under the name exfinity. His special interest is in idea based tech start ups and IPR based running ventures. He mentors various start ups. Prior to Gencoval, Mr. Deepak was Vice Chairman, i-flex India. He was one of the founding members of the company in 1993. It was his strategic, financial and operational acumen that drove the company into a true Indian multinational. Starting with a $1million capital, the market cap of i-flex in BSE , reached $4 billion, reaching over 130 countries around the globe with a revenue over $ 0.5 billion in 15 years. Deepak has at his credit a unique story of Indian Product company success in IT Industry. i-flex was considered as poster boys of Indian IT story globally. Since 1993, right from setting its initial operations in India, Deepak was involved to take i-flex as true Indian Multinational with 6 subsidiaries and 20 offices around the globe in all the continents. Deepak was also involved at i-flex in 15 different acquisitions of IPRs and businesses expanding the organization vertically and horizontally. The M&A activity included acquisitions of entities in Europe and the USA and structuring such deals and integrating them almost without any external help. Deepak’s areas of specialization were Commercial, Marketing and Risk Management. ‘Negotiating and Closing Customer Deals’ is his passion. He has travelled extensively in over 70 countries to finalize customer deals.
Deepak is the first Indian CFO to win the prestigious CFO Asia award in 2001 Today Deepak has a unique position in Finance, IT and Biotech circles in India and abroad. He is a sought speakers at various national and international forums on the subjects like Finance, Technology, Corporate Governance, Biotech and Future Scenario Building. Last 25 years, Deepak is teaching at various Management Institutes in India and abroad as a visiting faculty. For someone who genuinely believes in constant learning and teaching, it does not come as a surprise when he makes it a point to take a class on Finance or Management and now on Biotechnology, by interacting with students and sharing his experiences, whenever time permits him. He has also passion to get to grass root level people in rural India and understand their problems and views and advise various NGOs in their work. He is also on the Boards of NGO Companies and runs his own Public Charitable Trust. Deepak is also a die-hard music lover, and continues to play the Tabla whenever he finds the time.
