Dr. Sharma is cofounder & president of Venture Catalysts – India’s second most active angel network. He is one of the top 10 angel investors in India as rated by VCCircle. He is known as ‘The Fund Manager with Highest Returns to Investors’.

Dr. Sharma is a doyenne in the field of early stage investment and startup incubation. He has played an instrumental role in establishing startup ecosystem in India from 2002. He built India’s first incubator – JSS TBI, for which he received President of India Award.

Having been involved in early stage investments since 2002 and established almost dozens of incubators & accelerators including Amity Incubator, Somaiya Incubator, IAN Incubator, VentureNursery, EDII, Mata Vaishno University to name a few. He was also actively associated in establishing Angel Networks – IAN and Venture Nursery. In fact, Venture Nursery was India’s first accelerator backed by angel investors.

In his role, he is responsible for driving the strategic planning and overseeing the overall functioning of Venture Catalysts. In last 24 months, he managed to grow the organization across 7 cities India and 3 countries globally, with 3000 angel investors on board. He is also currently setting up a Rs 200 crore fund The Venture Catalysts for early stage investments.

Dr. Sharma holds a PhD in Incubation with an MBA, B. Tech. from reputed institutions. He also holds credit of a Diploma in Mentoring Studies from UC Berkeley offered by Intel-DST Scholarship. Prior to this, he has played a vital role in establishing JSS Seed Fund, Amity Family Office Fund, IAN Seed fund and more.

Overall, Mr. Sharma led and mentored more than 80 early stage investments with high success track record including Beardo (acquired by Marico), OYO Rooms (backed by Softbank), Jigsee (acquired by VuClip), Siftr (acquired by APUS), Invenzone, Birdseye, Webkliper, Confirmtkt, DSYH, Vphrase and many more.
